Betty Fern Essert
Memorial services for BETTY FERN ESSERT, will be held at 2pm Thursday, November 1, 2012 at the Colyer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Scott Mathis officiating. Burial will be private family in the Valley View Cemetery. Betty left home to be with the Lord October 28, 2012 at the Life Care Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior, worshiping at SONRise Church in Torrington, Wyoming. A memorial has been established to SONRise Church. The casket will be closed. Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends may send condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com.
Betty was born in Hemingford, Nebraska where she grew up and attended school. She attended beauty school in Hastings, Nebraska and worked in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, Crawford, Nebraska, and Long Beach, California. She married Douglas S. Essert in Cheyenne, Wyoming in 1956 and moved to Yoder, Wyoming where she lived until weeks before her passing.
Betty was a life long beautician, an exceptional seamstress, and she loved flowers and her three granddaughters. She was a member of the Sons of Norway.
Betty is survived by her husband Douglas Essert of Yoder, Wyoming; daughters Becky Essert, and Leah Knopp and her husband Gordon all of Cheyenne, Wyoming; a son Casey Essert and his wife Pam of Torrington, Wyoming; three granddaughters, Caleigh Essert of Torrington, and Rachel and Abigail Knopp of Cheyenne; a brother Norman Anderson and his wife Darleen of Hemingford, Nebraska; and a sister Gladys and her husband Ben Thomas of Los Angeles, California. She was preceded in death by her mother Nora Deitchler Anderson and her father Knute Anderson.
