Florence L. Green, 87, Gering
Florence L. Green, 87 of Gering, passed into the arms of her precious Lord on Friday, August 9, 2013 at The Residency in Scottsbluff, with all of her family by her side.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Gering with Pastor Lauren Ekdahl officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday at Gering Memorial Chapel from 1-8 pm with family present from 6-8 pm. A memorial has been established to the family's choice. Florence was born on August 15, 1925 to Edward Foster and Ethel (Trout) Foster in Lyman, NE. She grew up on a homestead near Lyman and attended Lyman schools. On January 25, 1942, she married Albert Green. They farmed near Scottsbluff. Later she went to work as a cook for St. Mary Hospital and later as a custodian for the City of Gering. She was a very hard worker, but always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. She loved to fish and spending time with her family. She was a member of the Gering United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her children Deloris (Ron) Lockman, Jim (Roberta) Green, Joanne (Lou) Ahlers and Bob (Alma) Green; seven grandchildren: Kim (Kent) Mueller, Jana (Steve) Mount, Allan Green, Mark (Missi) Lockman, Jennifer (Craig) Lorenz, Aaron (Michelle) Green and Matt (Tenya) Green and 17 great grandchildren. Also surviving her is her sister Evelyn Wambolt of Maxwell, NE; brother-in-law Donald Green of Gering, sisters-in-law Donna Brehm, Esther Green and Kathy Green all of Scottsbluff and Helen Lambert of Dayton, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Albert and sister Clara Schaneman and numerous sisters and brothers-in-law.
