Lewis sentencing delayed
The sentence for a former Sidney assistant football coach who entered pleas to felony drug charges has been continued from Thursday to August 8th. Cheyenne County Attorney Paul Schaub says the delay in the sentencing for 41 year old Robert Lewis is to complete a pre-sentence investigation.
Lewis, a former Nebraska football player, entered guilty pleas to possession of more than a pound of marijuana and possession of hashish.
Lewis was arrested in mid-November by the Nebraska State Patrol after a traffic stop in Sidney. Law enforcement had been tipped he may be transporting drugs from Kansas to Sidney. The arrest affidavit says troopers discovered marijuana and hashish in his car.
