Charlotte Gies Kuntz, 86, formerly of Scottsbluff

Charlotte Gies Kuntz, 86, of Lincoln, formally of Scottsbluff, died Wednesday, May 29th 2013 at Tabitha Care Center in Lincoln. A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 14, 2013 at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff with Pastor Troy Allen officiating. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Charlotte was born May 7th, 1927 in Painten, Germany to Wendelan and Anna Marie Gies. She and her family came to the United States on the ship, Muenchen, when Charlotte was the age of two. They settled in Lincoln, living in the Russian bottoms for five years. The family then moved to the Wyo-braska area to farm.

She met the love of her life, Henry P. Kuntz, at a dance. They married December 5th, 1948 in Torrington, Wyoming. The couple had three children. Henry was was killed at the age of 47 while working for Magnolia Driving Truck.

Charlotte worked at Woolworth for many years where she retired. She then went on to be a foster grandparent at ESU 13 and Westmoor Elementary. Charlotte moved back to Lincoln in 2006 to be closer to her family.

Survivors include her children, Kenneth (Barbara) Kuntz of Lincoln, Diana (Jeff) Evans of Lincoln, and Ronald Kuntz of Denver, Colo.; grandchildren, Aaron Kuntz, Justin Kuntz, Shauna, Nichelle and Kylie Evans; and 8 great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; brothers; and sister.
