Geary terminated as Community Christian School administrator
The administrator of Community Christian School in Scottsbluff has been relieved of his duties.
School Board President Colleen Howard confirmed that Chris Geary's contract was not renewed by a unanimous vote of the board last week.
Howard said that Geary is "still on the school's payroll" but is "taking a leave to finish building his house." Howard said he would finish out the rest of his contract, which ends on July 31st, on leave.
Geary, who has been the administrator at the school since 2006, said he was unaware of reports of his termination and offered no additional comment. Prior to that, he was a football coach, 8th grade homeroom, and math teacher for the school.
Howard said that more information will be released when the school board has a meeting with the school's corporate body on Monday night.
Community Christian, a interdenominational private school in Scottsbluff, started in 188. The Nebraska Department of Education listed enrollment at 192 (158 elementary and 34 junior high) students.
