Scottsbluff bank robber to face trial

A Scottsbluff man accused of robbing a Scottsbluff branch of Valley Bank on the day before Thanksgiving will face trial in district court after a preliminary hearing Friday.

42 year old Michael Scott is accused of robbery and possession of a controlled substance after he was arrested Thanksgiving evening at a mobile home in Scottsbluff. He will also face trial on a charge of theft by deception regarding theft and fraud cases involving local bank ATM cards that resulted in losses of over $8,000.

Video from the Broadway and Beltline Highway bank indicated Scott may have been armed with a knife and that he removed the money forcibly from the teller's cash drawer before fleeing. Scott's arraignment in district court is scheduled for Friday, December 7th at 1 p.m. He is being held on $750,000 bond.
