Gering man who threatened waiter to serve prison time
A 29 year old Gering man convicted of threatening an Applebees waiter with a steak knife in February will serve time in prison. James Pollat was sentenced by District Judge Leo Dobrovolny to two to four years in prison for his no contest plea to felony charge of use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
Court documents say Scottsbluff Police were advised by the waiter that Pollat was causing a scene and was asked to leave. The documents say Pollat then grabbed a steak knife and held it to his throat. The waiter was able to get the knife away from Pollat without anyone getting hurt.
Pollat was given credit for 168 days served in jail.
