Utah contractor sues over Torrington prison project
CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) _ A Utah construction company that built a medium-security prison near Torrington is suing the Wyoming Department of Corrections over what it says is money still owned for the project.
Officials with Sandy, Utah-based Layton Construction say the department still owes them $2.7 million.
The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports the company alleges breach of contract in its lawsuit filed last month in Laramie County District Court.
Brian Farmer with the Department of Corrections declined to comment, citing department policy not to discuss litigation involving the agency.
The Wyoming Medium Correctional Institution opened in January, 2010. The prison has room for 720 inmates.
