Margaret Louise Ellis, 90, Gering
Margaret Louise Ellis, 90 of Gering, Nebraska passed away Tuesday, May 07, 2013 at Regional West Medical Center.
Her memorial service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Gering with Rev. Lauren Ekdahl officiating. A private family inurnment will be at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Cremation has taken place. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.geringchapel.com. Gering Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Margaret was born on April 27, 1923 in Bayard, Nebraska, the daughter of Ira C. and Hattie May (Martin) Blackburn. She graduated from Bayard High School and attended college to renew her teaching certificate. She married Harold "Hap" Ellis on November 8, 1947 in Scottsbluff.
Margaret started as a bookkeeper for Inter City Lumber, later for Cal Lenhardt CPA, Midwec, Carr Trumbull Lumber Mitchell and West Nebraska General Hospital.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School. She was a past member of the BPW, where she served as President and Secretary. She was a foster grandparent and served on their board.
She enjoyed knitting and crocheting, playing cards and computer work. She loved her family and will be sadly missed.
Survivors include her children: Dianne Coffman of Westminster CO; Jerry Ellis of Billings, MT and Tim Ellis of North Hollywood, CA; sister Wanda Segner of Friend, NE, eleven grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband "Hap" Ellis and brother Ronald Blackburn.
