Theophil "Teef" Ehly, 82
Theophil "Teef" Ehly, 82, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2013.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, April 26, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Philip Ehly and Pastor Alex Ehly officiating. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 27th in Sutton, Nebraska at the Sutton Cemetery.
Memorials may be left to the family to be designated at a later date.
Teef was born in Henderson, Nebraska on October 11, 1930 to Henry and Margaret (Griess) Ehly. He graduated from Sutton High School in 1949. Teef married Phyllis Stevens on December 31, 1950 in York, NE. Teef served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and continued as a Reservist for a number of years.
Teef worked in sales most of his life, his first business partner was his brother Johnny in a furniture business in Sutton. After returning from Korea, he worked for General Motors (Frigidare Division) earning many promotions along the way, when he left GM he went to American Distributors in Omaha, NE. He went on to own a TV and Appliance store in Scottsbluff the Vern Bruce Company. His last job was as a driver for Enterprise leasing.
Teef and Phyllis loved to travel, they visited Rome, Italy; various cities in Mexico, China and Hawaii. They enjoyed taking cruises. Teef was an avid fisherman and loved spending time at Lake Minatare and in the Colorado mountains fishing with his many family members.
Teef is survived by his daughters, Juli (Les) Sheffield and Pat (Fred) Bastron; son, Philip (Traci) Ehly; grandchildren, Timothy (Jenn) Helfrich, Natali Helfrich, Chelci (William) Wickes, Candice (DJ) Garcia, Alysa (Rudy) Jenkins, Alex (Erin) Ehly, Christine Sheffield, China Ehly, Saraya Ehly, Preston Ehly, McKinzie Ehly, Lucas Ehly, Nathan Davis, Kristina (Stan) Graber and Cyndi Helfrich; great-grandchildren, Cameron Wickes, Trenton Jenkins, Daniel Garcia, Kyler Helfrich, Michael Ehly, Emily Helfrich, Chloe Jenkins, Kaylynn Ehly, Maci Scheffield, Jordan Jenkins, Kali Ehly, Ivy Lou Garcia, Byron Wickes, Mia Jenkins, Briton Ehly, Nathan Graber, Andrew Graber, Zachary Graber, Madelyn Graber and baby Wickes; and brother, Arthur (Rose) Ehly.
Teef is preceded in death by wife; his parents; daughter, Candace Dondzik; brother, Johnny Ehly and sister, Dorothy Keller.
Teef was loved by all who met him, both family and friends and will be remembered forever in our hearts. We take solace in the fact that he is with our Heavenly Father and joined our many loved ones that passed before him. We know there is a great party going on in Heaven.
