Skeets was born on April 23, 1914 in Mitchell, NE to Conrad and Katherine (Staley) Harimon. She was #10 of 13 children and was the last to pass on. She married Adam Deines on January 2, 1931 in Torrington, WY and they had three children: LaVern, Harlan and Karen.
Skeet's parents were of German ascent and migrated to the United States from Russia in the early 1900's eventually ending up in the North Platted Valley because of the fertile ground to raise sugar beets.
She had many favorite sayings: as a child it was "Scolding doesn't hurt, whippings don't last, killings not allowed, so let it all pass." In the recent years, her favorite saying was "This too shall pass." Skeets said, "I had my dad wrapped around my little pinkie," and she wishes that he could see all of the modern technology especially in the farming industry. She thought running water in the house was the best invention in her time. Brothers told Skeets that she would outlive them all because she was such a "hell raiser." Skeets often said, "I am a farmer's wife not a farmer, I am a full time housewife and mother".
Survivors include her sister-in-law and best friend Marie Harimon, Scottsbluff, NE; daughter Karen Deines, Morrill, NE; 13 grandchildren: Wyatt Deines (Sheri), Ft. Collins, CO, Tanya Prickett (Tim), Moses Lake, WA, Kim Gompert, Gering, Annette Henkel (Steven), Alliance, Dan Deines (Patti), Gering, NE, Elaine Eberhardt, Troy, MT, Steve (Terri) Deines, Omaha, NE, Diane Deines, Las Vegas, NV, Sandra James (Martin Serrano), Danville, CA, Toni Workman (Bill), Morrill, NE, Janel Hendricks (Chris), Lindsay, OK, Clayton Deines (Chris), Ocala, FL and Duke Deines, (Kim), Hudson, CO; 26 great grandchildren and 34 great great grandchildren.

Skeets had numerous talents from being a hard working housewife and mother on the farm to teaching her sewing and cooking to her family and tending her flower beds and garden. Skeets will be known mostly by her wonderful sense of humor, laughter and always having baked goodies on hand for a drink over a hot cup of coffee.
