KNEB presents $700 to Camp Scott

KNEB today (Wednesday) presented Camp Scott with $700, which represented the free will donations collected in the two hour barbecue at the station Friday to wrap up our Beef month celebration.

Reenie Berry, Camp Scott Board President, says the donation is a wonderful gift.

Berry says the money will be used to provide scholarships and help cover expenses for the annual five week summer camp for developmentally disabled children and teenagers. The camp, which usually serves between 40 and 45 students, will begin June 13th.

Johnson Cashway and their Traegar Grill representative from Kearney cooked up hamburgers and brats furnished by The Steel Grill.

This is the second year of the event. In addition to the Steel Grill, Johnson Cashway, and Traeger Grill, other co-sponsors included the Nebraska Beef Council and the Scotts Bluff County Ag Society.
