Buis Questions Fight to Embrace Dependence on Foreign Oil
Growth Energy CEO Tom Buis says the legislation recently introduced in the U.S. Senate by Roger Wicker of Mississippi and David Vitter of Louisiana would deny consumers the voluntary choice of a less expensive, higher performing fuel. He notes E15 is the most tested fuel to date and has not demonstrated problems or durability issues. Buis adds that NASCAR ran over three-million miles on E15 the past two seasons without any problems. In fact - NASCAR noted an increase in horsepower and performance. According to Buis - S. 344 places the heavy hand of government on the scales in favor of one industry over another - preventing the free market from operating as it should. Noting E15 is a voluntary choice for the retailer to sell and the consumer to buy - Buis says there is no logical reason to block the most tested fuel in history from the commercial marketplace. He says E15 is a win-win for America and all this bill does is prevent choice and impede progress.
Buis has written a letter to Senator Wicker and Senator Vitter to correct misinformation surrounding E15 and highlight its economic, security and environmental benefits.
