Archie Schuler, 57, Morrill
Archie Schuler, 57, of Morrill, died Sunday, January 27, 2013 at his home. His Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Dugan Kramer Funeral Home in Scottsbluff. In keeping with his wishes, his remains were cremated. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Panhandle Humane Society or to the Archie Schuler Memorial Fund.
Archie was born May 7, 1955 in Dalton, Nebraska to A. Dean Schuler and Dora (Huffman) Schuler. At a young age, the family moved to the family farm south of Morrill. He graduated from Lyman High School in 1974 and then attended Nebraska Western College for auto mechanics and electronics. Archie then worked at Carr Trumbull Lumber in Scottsbluff. On May 31, 1980 he married Julie A. Schlaepfer in Scottsbluff. He worked as a conductor on the Union Pacific Railroad and farmed the family farm south of Morrill where he and Julie raised their two sons.
Archie was a friendly guy who always enjoyed spending time visiting with friends. He never met anyone he couldn't talk to. He took pleasure in volunteering at community events throughout the year. He also enjoyed his many pets and will be greatly missed by his canine pal, Pepper. Throughout the summer, he could be found working in his many flower and vegetable gardens. In recent years he loved his trips to Mexico including fishing and lots of sunshine.
Surviving him are his wife Julie, sons Tony (Courtney Thomas) Schuler and Taylor Schuler of Morrill, brother Gary (Rhonda) Bickel of Fort Collins, CO, sister Pam Schuler of Mesa, AZ, nephews Casey (Liz) Bickel and Ryan Bickel, great nephew Liam Bickel.
His parents preceded him in death.
