JaCee Pilkington departs for Miss America Pageant
Miss Nebraska has departed Omaha today for Atlantic City ahead of next week's Miss America Pageant. Bayard's 21 year old JaCee Pilkington will be taking part in a week of rehearsals, activities and events with the other Miss America contestants as they prepare for the finals on Sunday, September 15th.
Before leaving Scottsbluff last week, JaCee told KNEB News she has is ready for the competition thanks to all the support and help she has received. She says she's had a lot of coaching, especially this summer, making trips to different coaches making sure she has everything perfected.
Pilkington says with the Miss America Pageant moved up to September this year, the competition has really never stopped since competing for Miss Nebraska. JaCee says after Miss Nebraska, it has just been a continuation for the next three months competing for Miss America.
With her beaming smile, the bright eyed Pilkington says that she is really excited, and has had alot of preparation and a lot of great help along the way.
Judges will select 14 semifinalists and a 15th will be decided by an online vote of the short videos that can be found online. The videos can be seen and voted on at www.missamerica.org/videocontest.
