Shirley Jean (Noetzelmann) Hewitt, 73

Shirley Jean (Noetzelmann) Hewitt, 73, of Antioch, California died Thursday, 13 Feb 2014 at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Antioch, California. She was born 19 Sep 1940 in Lewellen, Nebraska to Henry C. and Ethel M. (Hutchinson) Noetzelmann.

A Celebration of life ceremony was held at the Freedom House church on 17 Feb, 2014. A visitation will take place at the Holechek Funeral Home in Oshkosh on Monday, 24 Feb, 2014 at 12:30, with a graveside service following at 2:00 p.m. at Ash Creek cemetery near Lewellen with Pastor Lynn Lutz officiating.

She was married to Tom LeRoy Hewitt for over fifty beautiful years; they had four sons.

She is survived by her husband Tom of Antioch, CA; three sons Scott of Alabama, Tom Jr. of Tennessee, and Henry of Florida; two sisters, Gladys (Noetzelmann) Spear of Biloxi, MS, and Lillian (Noetzelmann) Temple of Valentine, NE, and her brother Chris Noetzelmann of Missouri; 12 grandchildren, and three great grand kids. She was preceded in death by her son Alan, her parents, one sister, and 5 brothers.

Shirley came from a family of ten children, and graduated from Lewellen High School in 1958, and completed her Bachelor's degree in Financial Accounting with honors. Shirley and Tom lived in Lander, Wyoming for over 27 years until they eventually moved to California in 1988. She spent her years as a loving wife and homemaker raising her four sons. She loved spending her time serving the Freedom House church in Brentwood, Ca.

Holechek Funeral Home in Oshkosh is assisting with local arrangments for the Hewitt family.
