Robert "Leroy" Rohrick, 84, Lyman

Robert "LeRoy" Rohrick, 84, of Lyman, died Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Golden Living Center in Scottsbluff. His funeral service will be held at 10am on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Jones Mortuary in Mitchell with Pastor Cindy Bowker officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Sunset Memorial Park in Scottsbluff. Visitation will be from 1pm - 6pm on Friday at Jones Mortuary in Mitchell. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of any flowers, memorials in Robert's honor be made in care of the Lyman Volunteer Fire Department or the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Lyman. LeRoy was born January 26, 1929 in Swett, SD to Alex and Mary (Frick) Rohrick. They lived in South Dakota, Colorado and lastly in the Lyman-Huntley area. During his early years, his uncle George Rohrick taught him the art of boxing. He met Bertha Weitzel, the love of his life, at the Silver Glide Ball Room in Lyman and they were married on February 16, 1949 during the blizzard of '49 in Lyman. They lived in Lyman where LeRoy farmed. He later owned and operated the R&S John Deere Dealership, then started Roy's Supply in Lyman, then worked at B&C Motors in Mitchell and lastly at Big Sky Ford in Torrington until his retirement. He held many offices and was a member of the Lyman Village Board, Lyman School Board, Immanuel United Church of Christ in Lyman and had been a member of the Lyman Volunteer Fire Department since 1959 where he was always there when needed.

LeRoy enjoyed playing Santa Clause, fishing, playing Pitch with friends, and was an avid gardener and loved doing yard work. He especially loved spending time with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Bertha of Scottsbluff; daughters Cyndi (Jim) Neuwirth and JoAnn (Curtis) Robinson; grandchildren Jim (Lisa) Neuwirth and their children Charles, Jonathan, and Annika; Jodi (Justin) Leisy and children Janessa, Jaedyn and Jacob Curtis; Cristen Robinson; and Cara (Jesse) Leeling; sisters Frieda Foos, Gladys Dutton and Darlene Hartley, 5 sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.

His parents, brother Raymond Rohrick, special uncle George (Martha) Rohrick, numerous other aunts and uncles, and great grandchildren Joshua and Jonathan Leisy preceded him in death.
