Kerrey & Fischer debate for the final time this evening
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ Republican Deb Fischer and Democrat Bob Kerrey will meet for their final debate in the race for a U.S. Senate seat.
The Monday night event comes only three days after the two candidates debated in Omaha.
NET News is hosting the hour-long debate, which will be broadcast live at 7 p.m. on NET TV and radio.
The candidates will be questioned by a media panel.
Polls have shown Fischer, a rancher and state senator, leading Kerrey, a former governor and U.S. senator who moved back to Nebraska to run for Senate.
The Nebraska seat is seen as crucial to Republican hopes of winning a majority in the U.S. Senate. The winner will replace Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson, who didn't seek re-election.
