Bridgeport Council postpones meeting to discuss eliminating Administrator

A special meeting where the Bridgeport City Council was going to discuss the possible elimination of the City Administrator position has been postponed.

Mayor Jack Berg told KNEB News that the meeting was originally scheduled for Tuesday but one city council member was not able to attend, so the issue will be discussed at the Thursday, April 11th regular meeting.

Berg said eliminating the city administrator is being considered as one of seven ways that the city could reduce overall spending. Berg said that council members were going to discuss if the City Administrator position is needed and whether the city could operate without it.

Bradley Hanson has been the City Administrator at Bridgeport since October 2011.
