Cargill to Label Products Containing Finely Textured Beef

Cargill Beef will start labeling ground beef products containing finely textured beef. Labels that declare - contains finely textured beef - will appear on products prior to the 2014 grilling season. According to the company - the decision is based on extensive consumer research. Cargill Beef President John Keating says their research shows consumers believe ground beef products containing finely textured beef should be clearly labeled. Research has also revealed that - once consumers learn that finely textured beef is 100-percent pure beef and 95-percent lean - consumers respond positively to its benefits.

Cargill has a website - www dot groundbeefanswers dot com dedicated to providing information about finely textured beef - including videos that show how it is made. Cargill has produced finely textured beef since 1993 with the approval of USDA.
