Gering schools administration moving today to new "digs"
Gering Superintendent Don Hague and the administrative staff are excited about moving into their new "digs" on Friday. In February the School district purchased the former Western Heritage Credit Union offices on 10th Street as the new home for administration.
Thursday employees were getting trained on new phones, packing materials and equipment, and looking forward to having 10 Gering High seniors help with the move. Hague says getting the building at a cost of only $50 per square foot and without requiring renovations is a huge plus for the district. Hague also says moving school board meetings to the council chambers is a big improvement from the board's previous meeting location.
Hague believes the district will be a solid partner for the retail merchants located on 10th Street, and could bring extra customer traffic to downtown.
