Community Christmas dinner to be served
A Community Christmas Dinner will be served by Grace Chapel Church from 11 a.m to 1 p.m. on Christmas Day. Larry Massie, the Event Coordinator, says the meal will be free and will consist of roast turkey, baked ham, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes with gravy, seasoned green beans, applesauce, rolls, milk, coffee and a variety of pies.
Massie, an elder at Grace Chapel, says they have seen the effect of the economic downturn on those served in our Community Outreach Ministries, and the dinner is one of the ways they can "help those particularly hard hit."
Massie says they are planning to serve 700 meals, and welcome those who would like to set-up, serve, clean up and deliver meals to the homebound. Massie says those who need a meal to contact them at 436-7554 or 225-1827. Grace Chapel is located at 300 Valley View Drive in Scottsbluff.
