LeRoy was born to the late Gottlieb and Caroline (Voght) Frank on November 28, 1922, near Bushnell, Nebraska. LeRoy graduated from Bushnell High School in 1941, and served in the United States Army during World War II from 1944 to 1946. He married Inez Blanche Vernon in 1949, and they spent the majority of their married life in Scottsbluff, before relocating to Gering in 2005.
LeRoy's career encompassed a variety of farm-related industries. He worked for Lockwood Manufacturing and Great Western Sugar Company for many years while also operating a part-time farm implement business of his own, on the side. His farm implement business, Frank's Link, became his full-time interest in 1986, along with the management of a small farm near the old Haig schoolhouse. LeRoy's entrepreneurial skills maintained the operation of both these successful business interests well into his 80's.
LeRoy was an active member, teacher and served as a deacon for many years at Bethel Baptist Church in Scottsbluff. His favorite hobbies were fishing, hunting, sharing his faith, and watching Nebraska Cornhusker football games. His family will always look forward to the time they will rejoin him in heaven.
LeRoy is survived by his wife, Inez of 64 years; daughters, Melody (Doug) Leafgreen of Gering , and Yvette Frank of Leawood, Kansas; son, Carter (Lorraine) Frank of Brandywine, Maryland; grandchildren, Toby (Robin) Leafgreen, Nicole (Jonathan) Hoesch, Christopher Novacek, Desiree (Danny) Mapes, Ryan (Emily) Frank, Kevin (Allison) Frank, Joshua (Amber) Novacek, and Kelsey Frank; 8 great-grandchildren; and sister, Betty Barkell.
