Gering school board to consider selecting Superintendent search firm

The Gering school board Monday night will consider selecting a firm to assist them with the search for a new Superintendent. Don Hague, who will be retiring at the end of the school year after 43 years in education, says it's important the school board select a firm to help with the process. Hague says the board can conduct interviews and do community visits but they need a firm to help them with the time it takes for the application process and to to help whittle the candidates to those they want to interview.

The board interviewed search firms last month. Hague says the board is planning on having someone selected by January or shortly thereafter so there is a smooth transition.
