Caroline Rose Poage, 88, Wheatland

Wheatland, Wyoming – Caroline Rose Poage, 88, died Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Platte County Memorial Hospital in Wheatland.
Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 5, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Wheatland with Pastor Lincoln Winter officiating. A luncheon, at the church, will follow services. There will be a graveside committal service at 2:00 p.m. at Valley View Cemetery in Torrington. Cremation has taken place.
Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home and friends may send their condolences to the family at .

Caroline was born April 11, 1924, in Big Springs, Nebraska the daughter of L.W. and Katherine (Neuhofel) Knudsen. After starting school in Big Springs, the family moved to Lost Springs, Wyoming where Caroline studied until the eighth grade. The family then moved to Mitchell and on to Torrington where she graduated from Torrington High School. Caroline married Harvey Poage May 9, 1942 in Torrington. The couple lived in Denver, Colorado. After Harvey entered the Navy, she moved back to Torrington. When Harvey returned from the Navy, the couple started farming near Lost Springs. They retired and moved to Torrington in 1975.

Caroline enjoyed cooking, jigsaw and crossword puzzles and knitting.
Survivors include her daughter Janice (Dewey) Baars of Wheatland, Wyoming; her son Vernon (Teresa) Poage of Cheyenne, Wyoming; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband Harvey; her daughter Anita Jassman; two brothers, Wayne and Howard Knudsen.
