Box Butte Co. youth excel at Cattlemen's Classic

Box Butte Co. 4-H Livestock Judging Team at Nebraska Cattlemen's Classic

Box Butte County youth are being becoming a strong force in livestock juding. Fourteen members of the county's 4-H juding team competed in the Nebraska Cattlemen's Classic Youth Livestock Judging Contest in Kearney. The contest boasted 118 senior participants and 77 junior participants.

The Box Butte County junior team of Jayce Meyring, Wade Sanders, Dani Carter and Baily Hoood finished third overall. Individually, Jayce Meyring finished 1st in placings, 9th in feedlot and 7th overall. Ian Thompson placed 7th in feedlot. Krista Carter 4th in reasons. The team is coached by Jay & Shauna Meyring and Teresa Sanders.
