4th Graders take to the FARM
4th graders from throughout the region are taking their studies outside. Over the next two days, more than 650 youth from area schools are participating in Hands On History at the Farm And Ranch Museum in Gering. The event sponsored by the Educational Service Unit 13. Staff Developer Jadie Beam says program ties into 4th grade curriculum.
Student will spend about two hours at the museum learning through hands on activities at eight different stations. With 25 - 30 volunteers, students are learning about the region's agricultural history of growing sugar beets, potatoes, corn and hay production.
