Burglary charge against Mitchell man dismissed

A burglary charge against a 31 year old Mitchell man accused of burglarizing a Scottsbluff storage unit in early March was dismissed Thursday following a preliminary hearing in Scotts Bluff County Court.

Charging documents say Victor Rubio was taken into custody after items reported stolen in a burglary that occurred between March 7th and 10th were pawned at Mr. Money in Scottsbluff. The documents say Rubio was identified as the individual who pawned the items, and a warrant search of Rubio's Mitchell home resulted in the recovery of addition items reportedly stolen.

Rubio was charged with burglary, a class III felony.

Judge Kris Mickey determined there was insufficient evidence to bind the case over to District Court. The charge against Rubio was dismissed.
