Mayo optimistic on contract for new golf course restaurant operator

Gering Mayor Ed Mayo says he is optimistic the city will be approving a contract with the new operator of the Monument Shadows Golf Course restaurant on Monday.

Natasha Formby from Las Vegas is the recommended choice of the council's administrative committee and Mayo says the only thing left to do is to make sure Formby is pleased with all the terms of the contract.

Formby has ten years experience in the food industry even though she has owned a beauty salon and day spa in Las Vegas for the past seven years. Formby plans to have the restaurant open year round and will take over as soon as possible from current owners Rich and Michael Klein, whose contract expires at the end of the month.
