Alexander Alan Marsh, 62, of Scottsbluff was called to be with his Lord on April 9, 2018 after a nine year battle with cancer. Per his request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 13, 2018 at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel with Pastor Marty Rostad officiating. Alex was born May 8, 1955 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Alex and Phyllis (Tillotson) Marsh. He was the sixth of seven children. He married Sue Shields on June 10, 1978. To this union, three children were born: Nathan, Nicholas, and Hope. He loved his family with all his heart. He dedicated his life to working hard and caring for his family.
Alex started farming with his father when he was 11. After his graduation from Morrill High School, he headed to Denver to learn automotive and diesel mechanics. In 1987, Alex opened Marsh’s Morrill Repair Shop. Keeping current with changes in technology, he had many certificates and utilized computer diagnostics to be able to work on the new cars, trucks, and tractors.
Alex was a self taught musician, played guitar and wrote songs. He was an artist drawing wildlife and religious pictures. Alex was a Christian who played for the local churches and funerals. He donated some of his time at the prison in Torrington, WY.
Alex is survived by Sue Marsh; daughter Hope and her husband Chris Gillaspy of Kearney; son Nathan (Hannah) Marsh of Sydney, Australia; grandchildren Brody and Luke Gillaspy; sisters Joanne (George) Arends, Cathy (Bob) Ledford, and Ginger Cressy (Mike Hessler); brothers Frank (Collette) Marsh and Ron Marsh; nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Alex was preceded in death by his parents Alex and Phyllis Marsh, grandparents Emery and Mary Ellen Tillotson and Frank and Eva Marsh, brother Mike Marsh, son Nicholas Marsh, brother-in-law John Cressy, nephew John Greenwalt, and cousins Monty and Melanie Specht.
