Delegates at the Democratic National Convention this evening are expected to nominate Hillary Clinton as their presidential candidate, but delegates assigned to Bernie Sanders have not yet been released from their commitment.
Jeff Leanna of Scottsbluff, a Sanders delegate, admits efforts at uniting the convention behind one candidate still need work. Leanna says there were still feelings from Sanders delegates this morning that they “are not being respected” by the Clinton delegates. Leanna says there is “still a lot of work to bring those groups together.”
Sanders says he hopes his delegates will vote for him during Tuesday’s planned roll call vote. But the former presidential candidate acknowledges that he does not have enough support to prevent Clinton from being formally nominated by the Democratic party for president.
