Leanna: Unity still an issue at Democratic National Convention

Scottsbluff delegate Jeff Leanna says getting disenfranchised Bernie Sanders delegates to unite behind the Hillary Clinton ticket is still one of the big things that needs to be accomplished at the Democratic Convention.

Leanna, a Sanders delegate who says he can unite behind Clinton, says the challenge is to get some of the younger delegates to move their support to Clinton.

Leanna says he has bee hearing some of the Sanders delegates may “peel off” and support Green Party candidate Jill Stein. But he believes most will eventually get behind the Clinton-Kaine ticket.

Leanna noted there were several young delegates in the Nebraska delegation who participated in a “sit-in” at the media press tent to protest the nomination vote and the fact they haven’t been able to generate enough change.
