West Point-Beemer Bowling Team comes up short at State

The West Point-Beemer Unified Bowling Team competed at the State Tournament in Lincoln on Monday. All teams started the day bowling 6 baker trio games. West Point bowled with Bellevue East. The Cadets’ scores were – 86-170-148-147-115-114 for a Season High 780.

Baker scores were: Fremont-906, Lincoln High-880, Bellevue East-848, Alliance-818, West Point-780, Papillion LaVista South-761, Lincoln Southeast-744- Cambridge-741.

West Point-Beemer was really wanting to get to that 800 total, according to Head Coach Barb Rolf, but were happy to set a new team high for the season. That placed themn 5 going into the bracket seedings. At 1:30 the opponent was Alliance who had the top score coming into state with a 941 at Districts. It was best of 5. Alliance won the first game, West Point-Beemer won the 2nd and 3rd game and needed one more to reach the semi finals and couldn’t pull it off. Scores were- Alliance 153-99 game 1. West Point 142-127 game 2. West Point 144-106 game 3. Alliance 144-98 and 158-84. Alliance went on to win the State High School Unified Championship over Lincoln High.

Members bowling were Jonathon Brune, James Meiergerd, Jose Rodriguez, Amanda Cuik and Sergio Rodriguez.
