The only boys soccer coach that Gering High School has ever known is stepping down at the end of this season.

After 16 years at the helm, Justin Clark made the announcement earlier this week via his Twitter account.

Not only leaving the Gering soccer program, which he helped start, but Clark will also be leaving his post as the physical education teacher at the Gering Junior High.

Clark and his family will be moving to Cheyenne to pursue other job opportunities.

I spoke with Coach Clark this morning regarding his big decision.

In the interview Coach Clark talked about his football coaching career as well. He worked under three head coaches; Tom O’Boyle, Jimmie Rhodes, and Todd Ekart.

From my perspective, working with coaches, Justin Clark is one of the real good guys around. Wish coach and his family the best of luck when the time comes to make the move to Cheyenne.
