Best in the West T&F recap and results
It was a gorgeous night of weather for this year's Best in the West Track & Field Classic at Bearcat Stadium.

The talk last night on the infield at Bearcat Stadium focused on two things; great athletes and great weather.

With temps in the mid to upper 60’s everyone involved was thankful for a great evening of weather to compete in. And with the weather locked in it was time for the areas best performers to go to work.

Mitchell’s Jori Peters and Justin Spencer were named the female and male athletes of the meet.

Peters shined by winning the 400 meters, running on the winning 400 meter and 1,600 meter relay teams, and also finishing second in the 800 meters.

Jori Peters of Mitchell once again shined on the big stage, winning three events.

For Spencer, it was a record setting night in the pole vault. Spencer destroyed the old meet record of 14 feet 2 inches with a winning vault of 15 feet 3 inches.

Here are some photos of some other standout performers from last night:

Scottsbluff’s Connor McCracken set the school record in the high jump at 6’7 for first place last night.
Gering’s Xavier Arellano (pictured 2nd from left) helped the Bulldogs win the two mile relay and then he won the open 800 meters in under two minutes.
Scottsbluff sprinters; Chris Busby (right) and Jeremiah Delzer went 1-2 in the 100 meters. Busby tied the school record at 10.84 seconds. Delzer later won the 200 meters.
