The Kimball Longhorns golf team has been dominant on the links this spring.
Nothing changed on Tuesday afternoon on their home track, the Four Winds Course, as they lapped the field at the C-5 District Meet.
Kimball took home the top spot in the team standings with a combined score of 309.
Perkins County was a distant second at 342 and Bridgeport finished third with a score of 361.
All three teams qualified for the State Tournament.
KNEB summer intern and former Kimball Longhorn, Michael Ferguson, caught up with his former Head Coach, Chad Wise, after the round.
Leading the way for Kimball was Dillon Wise. Wise captured meet medalist honors with a round of 73.
He was three shots better than runner-up, Eric Stevens of Bridgeport, who carded a 76.
Kimball’s overall depth was on display as all five guys finished inside the top eight.
Kimball figures to be a major player and one of the favorites in Class C at the State Tournament.
Mitchell, Hemingford, and Bayard finished 11th, 12th, and 13th, respectively, in the team standings.
