The Boys State Tennis Championships are being held at the Wood Tennis Center in Lincoln today and again on Friday, but all the players from the region were eliminated on day one.
Scottsbluff got two of the three wins from western Nebraska players. The Bearcats Barrett Frank won his opening round match at No. 1 singles over Elkhorn 7-5, 6-3, before being eliminated in round two by Elkhorn North.
The other win for Scottsbluff came at No. 2 doubles with Cortez Palomo & Matthew Hafner outlasting Hastings 6-1, 2-6, 14-12. The Scottsbluff pair was then knocked out in round two by Lexington.
Alliance also got a win with Kysen Walker taking his first round match over Gross Catholic. Walker lost in round two to South Sioux City.
