Scottsbluff hires new boys tennis coach
The Scottsbluff boys tennis will have a different look in the fall of 2014.
After the 2013 season, Ron Swank turned in a letter or resignation. Since that time, SHS has been in an internal search for his replacement, and according to Activities Director Dave Pauli the search has been completed.
"I am excited to announce that Maddie Burford is the head boys tennis coach," he said in a release from the high school.
Pauli added, "I would like to thank Coach Swank for taking the program during a tough time. Coach Swank made good progress in his years as head coach."
During his tenure numbers grew from 8 (with no courts in 2011) to 17 with new courts in 2013.
Coach Burford has 25 years of playing experience that includes a state championship at Grand Junction High School in Colorado.
She has coached numerous camps throughout the years and has served as an assistant/co-Head coach for the Scottsbluff girls tennis team for three years.
She has also served as an assistant basketball coach for three years at Scottsbluff High School
