Fast start for Wood continues
Back-to-back events on the track did not bother Kelsy Wood of Hemingford this morning at the State Track and Field Championships in Omaha.
Moments after qualifying with the fastest time for Saturday's finals in the 100 meter hurdles, Wood stepped back on the track at Burke Stadium and won her qualifying heat of the 100 meter dash. She had the second fastest qualifying time overall.
The senior is also competing in the long jump this morning.
Breanna Korell of Bayard did not qualify for the finals in the 100.
Bridgeport's Quentin Baxter and Taylor Lackey of Morrill competed in the Class C high jump this morning, but did not place. The winning height was 6-8.
