WESTCO remains red hot with sweep
The WESTCO Zephyrs continue to roll along. Mark Moran's crew has now won 10 out of its last 12 contests following a 7-6 and 8-2 doubleheader sweep of Ft. Morgan at Cleveland Field Tuesday night.
"Ft. Morgan has a good team," Moran said. "We played very well. We are improving in all aspects of the game. We are getting better pitching and better defense."
The Zephyrs scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to pull out a win in the opener. Ty Wilson picked up the win in relief.
Ty Dunkel led the charge at the plate for the Z's with a 3-for-4 performance.
Dylan Busskohl went the distance in the second game giving up just two runs on six hits.
"He has been a very pleasant surprise," Moran said of Busskohl. "We knew he was going to pitch a little bit for us, but do to other factors he has had to pitch a lot and he has done a great job for us."
The Zephyrs trailed 1-0 moving to the bottom of the fourth in the second game, but scored three runs in the fourth and five more in the fifth to put the game away.
Beau Lofink led the Zephyrs at the plate in the second game going 3-for-4 with two runs scored.
The 18-11 Zephyrs will play a nine-inning game at Chappell tonight.
