Lemek leads; Krzyzanowski tied for 19th
Norfolk – Doniphan's Danielle Lemek leads the 12th Nebraska Girls' Amateur Championship by two shots after 18-holes of play at the Norfolk Country Club. Lemek posted an even par round of 72 including four birdies and four bogeys, three of which came on par 3's. Haley Thiele of Wahoo finished at 74. Her round included a pair of birdies and a a pair of bogeys; a double bogey 7 on the par 5 18th was the difference.
Scottsbluff's Kaitlyn Krzyzanowski is in a four-way tie for 19th in the 48 girls field. She fired a first round 89. She had no birdies and four par's.
Lemek and Thiele will be paired together in the final group along with Sarah Jo Pravecek of Omaha (77). They begin final round play Tuesday at 2:27 p.m. Madison Romjue of Lincoln (79), Hannah Thiele of Wahoo (80) and Kimberly Barmettler of Omaha (80) make up the 2:18 p.m. group.
