Zephyrs win again
The WESTCO Zephyrs picked up their 20th win of the season Thursday night in Sidney.
It didn't come easy for Mark Moran's crew, which has won 12 of its last 14 games. They trailed through two innings, 1-0, but scored four runs in the third. The big hit was a three-run triple by Ty Wilson. Eric Moreno then knocked Wilson in with a base hit to cap the outburst.
The Zephyrs extended the lead to 6-1 then held off a seventh inning Sidney rally to register the win. Beau Lofink pitched into the seventh inning to pick up his second win of the season.
Up next for the Zephyrs will be a trip to Omaha. They will play a Monday doubleheader with Bellevue East. After a stop at the College World Series the Z's will head home Tuesday and stop in North Platte for a doubleheader. They will host Ogallala in a doubleheader on June 23.
