Sohl staying on top at Amateur
There has been some movement on the leaderboard at the 104th Nebraska State Amateur Golf Tournament at the Scotts Bluff Country Club but it hasn't affected first day co-leader Greg Sohl of Wahoo.
Through 13 holes Friday he is even par and remains at five under for the tournament. His first round co-leader, Ryan Nietfeldt of Elkhorn has fallen back. He is four over for the day and now one under for the tournament. He was hurt by a triple bogey six on the par 3 7th hole.
Scottsbluff's Andrew Holloway and Mitchell Ryan of Omaha both had over par rounds but have moved up to a tie for second behind Sohl. Ryan was two over for the day and Holloway one over. Now, both are two under for the tourney.
Mitchell's Brock Ehler is two over for his second round and is even for the tournament. Two local golfers have made charges today. Paul Mohr shot a two under 70 to move to even par and Gering's Austin Miller is three under for his round so far to drop to two over for the tournament.
Tanner Johnson of Broken Bow has had the best round of the day so far with a four under par. He is still on the course at even par for the Amateur.
Class C high school state medalist Mitchell Klooz of Plainview is three under for his round and one under for the tournament.
Two time defending champ Andy Sajevic is one over for the day and two over for the tournament. Dad, John Sajevic is one under for the day and also two over for the tourney.
The top 54 and ties will make the cut. Right now the projected cut line is an 11-over par score.
