Zephyrs get 27th win of season

Chappell scored first Saturday night during its game with the WESTCO Zephyrs, but Beau Lofink quickly shut the door and the Z's rolled to a 5-1 win at the Walmart Tourney.

Lofink mowed down Chappell over the next six innings, limiting the visitors to just five hits while striking out 11.

The Zephyrs quickly took the lead back from Chappell with two runs in the bottom of the first. Ty Wilson had a run scoring single in the inning, then scored the second run on a steal of home.

Tharyn Curtis was perfect at the plate with a hit and two walks. Eric Moreno had one of the five WESTCO hits and scored two runs.

Roosevelt out of Colorado is up next for the Zephyrs at 5:00 p.m. Sunday. Mark Moran's crew will enter 27-11 on the year.
