Two CSC players honored

CHADRON – Two Chadron State College student-athletes are Nebraska Division II Players of the Week. Lane Haller is the Defensive Player of the Week, while Glen Clinton is the Offensive Player of the Week.

Wayne State's Cori Hobbs is the Volleyball Player of the Week.

Haller had a game to remember last Thursday in the Eagles' thrilling 40-34 win in double overtime at Missouri S&T. On third down in the second extra session, Haller picked off the S&T quarterback and returned it for a 79-yard TD to win the game. It was the Eagles' first win in overtime since 2011 and their first-ever victory against a team from Missouri (1-8).

Haller, a junior from Gordon, Neb., led the Eagles with 15 tackles in their 34-31 loss at West Texas A&M.

Clinton, a senior from Cody, Wyo., rushed for 143 yards and a touchdown against the Buffs. His touchdown run of 77 yards is the longest in his career.

Hobbs, a senior from Battle Creek, Neb., recorded two double doubles for the eighth-ranked Wildcats as they went 4-0 at the CSU-Pueblo ThunderWolves Classic. Hobbs averaged 4.5 kills and 3.8 digs per set.
