CSC ranked 21st

Clinton gets some preseason hype

The Chadron State College football team is ranked 21st in the opening D2Football.com Top 25 poll.

The Eagles, who went 9-3 in 2012 and qualified for the Division II playoffs, will open their season Thursday against Missouri S&T.

Valdosta State, the 2012 national champion, is ranked No. 1. Minnesota-State Mankato is second, Northwest Missouri is third and CSC's opponent in Dallas on Sept. 12, West Texas A&M, is fourth.

D2football.com also released its Preseason All-America Team Monday and Glen Clinton was placed on the second team offense. Clinton, a senior from Cody, Wyo., led the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference with 1,350 yards rushing in 2012. He rushed for over 100 yards in six games and scored seven touchdowns. He also had 21 receptions for 218 yards and a TD.

For his career, Clinton, an Academic All-American in 2012, has rushed for 3,128 yards, which ranks him fourth all-time at Chadron State.
