Maher gets special teams award
Nebraska senior punter and kicker Brett Maher of Kearney won his sixth Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Week award Monday, the most in Beg Ten history. It is the third this season.
Maher accounted for 12 points and averaged 41 yards per punt in Nebraska's 32-23 win over Penn State Saturday.
He was also perfect on three field goal tries, his fourth game with three or more this season. He also boomed a career long tying 69-yard punt in the fourth quarter that pinned the Nittany Lions on their own two-yard line leading to a Husker safety.
