North Platte holds off Scottsbluff boys

The Scottsbluff boys jumped out to an 11-4 lead in the first quarter Friday night against North Platte, but ended up falling 53-50 to the Bulldogs on day two of the East-West shootout.

The Scottsbluff girls played at North Platte and suffered a 76-35 loss.

In the boys game, North Platte pulled to within 11-8 at the end of the first quarter, and then outscored the Cats 16-6 in the second quarter to take a seven point lead at half time.

Scottsbluff battled back to knot the score heading into the fourth quarter.

Trent Harris paced Scottsbluff with 14 points. Freshman Landon Walker added 10. North Platte placed three players in double figures, lead by Kade Erickson with 16.

North Platte ran past the Scottsbluff girls in North Platte Friday night. The Bulldogs jumped out to a 29-8 lead in the first quarter and led 55-19 at halftime in route to a 76-35 win.

Chesney Walker scored seven to lead the Bearcats.
