Scottsbluff suffers two losses
With the first round a little past the halfway point Scottsbluff has dropped a couple of matches at the state championships at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha.
After winning four straight matches to open the tournament the Cats have dropped two in a row. District champ Sabian Harsh dropped his 145 pound match 9-3, while Tristan Donelson was in pinned in :39 in his 152 pound match.
District champ Andrew Aratani has yet to go for the Cats at 285.
Alliance also ran into some difficulty. After two pins to open the day they suffered losses by Tyler Smith at 138 and Manny Cabello at 145. Smith lost 5-4, while Cabello was pinned in :34. Teammate Tyson Dowler remained unbeaten on the season at 26-0 with a technical fall at 152.
Chadron has added a win at 145 from Tate Cullers. He won 4-2. Sidney has had one wrestler go to the mats. Michael Muggli won a major decision, 11-2 at 132.
In Class C Bridgeport's district champ, Brandon Nichols won by a pin at 138. He pinned his opponent with just three seconds to go in the match.
Gordon/Rushville suffered a loss, 5-3 from 138 pounder Casey Glassgow.
