Gering ends losing streak at Torrington
Torrington put six runs on the board through the first two innings of Wednesday's home game with Gering Platte Valley Companies, but the doors were slammed shut after that as Gering cruised to a 14-6 win.
The win snapped Gering's three=game losing streak and moved their record to 14-12 on the year.
Torrington led 6-5 after the second inning, but that was it for the hosts. Gering took the lead for good with a three-run fifth inning. They added four runs in the seventh and two more in the ninth.
Nate Marquez continued his hot hitting for Gering with three hits. Four other Gering players collected two. Marquez also scored three runs for Gering.
